Doesn't it lessen your love to know how the neural mechanisms work?



Knowing that a simple string of hydrocarbons produces the scent of a flower is in many ways amazing, and likewise to think of all of the complex interactions that took place since the beginning of the universe to create a convergent thermodynamical instantiation of a specific person, who traveled so far before reaching me, in just such a way as to trigger a specific set of states within a mind that has been growing and developing since then in a way so different than the molecular or electrochemical potentials previously were configured, and all from stuff that came from the center of ancient stars within our galaxy millions of years ago, when any number of other paths could have been taken to totally different ends is fantastic.
