Who is Your Favorite Living Actor or Actress?

Chiwetel Ejiofor was very good in several Shakespeare productions, Children of Men, Amistad, and Love Actually, and he really tried his best with Melinda and Melinda and Serenity. I haven't seen Salt or 2012 however and those might be much worse.

Julianne Moore (for lack of a clear choice) has been in a number of absolutely terrible movies, but I think if there were better parts actually available for complex multi-dimensional characters in interesting settings she would have been able to find them and forgo doing skin cream commercials. Her excellent performance in Blindness makes up for a lot in my mind.
